M.A Rouf Chowdhury is a well known name in the business domain of the country. He is the Chairman of Rahima Food Corporation. Under his leadership the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry played significant roles in different times. This entrepreneur personality involved in edible oil refining, have been greeted and praised for strong and courageous roles in different needs of the businessmen. He got the opportunity to realize the problems of members and associations of entire country intimately during his performance of responsibilities as a Director of FBCCI. He considers if FBCCI gets strong and right leadership, then the trade body would be capable to have more significant roles in development of country’s trade and industry. While mentioning that present time is the time of change of FBCCI Mr. M.A Rouf Chowdhury said this is the time to recast old anew. It is necessary to strengthen FBCCI secretariat in semblance with Singapore, Malaysia.  He said if 324 member-Associations become stronger then FBCCI will be able to render its position in the entire development. In Rouf Chowdhury’s opinion piecemeal efforts of the government would not be successful for commodity price stabilization. Towards solution of the same, in presence of all sides including government, price of rice, lentils, wheat floor, edible oil, sugar, powder milk should be fixed. Apart from that he also said of formation of high powered price commission. In the month of Ramadan in the year 2007during very excessive price hike of edible oil he appealed for supply of oil without any profit for the period of that particular month as President of Refinery Association. His contributions are rare to ascertain just environment in between business community and general consumers. In consideration of incessant roles of Mr. M.A Rouf Chowdhury he has been nominated as one of the foremost personalities of the year 2007.Sincere wishes and greetings to him for and on behalf of Arthokatha.
