Fahim is a professional with proven track record of accomplishments in socio-economic policy advocacy. 

Sheikh F Fahim is the elected President for the term 2019-2021 of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI). Prior to this, Sheikh F Fahim was an elected Senior Vice President for the term 2017-2019 of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI), the national umbrella business body representing eighty two chambers and three hundred and eight four associations of Bangladesh. He earlier served as an elected Director of FBCCI for the term 2015-2017. Fahim represents Bangladesh as elected Vice President of Confederation of Asia Pacific Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CACCI), representing twenty six national umbrella chambers of Asia and Pacific countries, member of Developing 8 countries, D-8 Chamber of Commerce and Industries (D-8CCI), South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) of private sector of eight South Asian countries.

Sheikh F Fahim is a board member of multiple domestic and international institutions who received prestigious domestic and international awards including the Certificate of Merit from World Customs Organization and International Construction Business Award from the Global Trade Leaders’ Club. He had been key note speaker, session chair and panel discussant at numerous business and social events all over the world. His role as a member of Arbitration Tribunal of FBCCI for the terms 2017-19 and 2015-17 is evident through many successful alternative dispute resolutions. 

Sheikh F Fahim was deputy leader and leader of business delegations of private sector entourages to numerous state visits lead by Hon’ble Prime Minister of the Govt. of Bangladesh H.E Sheikh Hasina. He was leader of business delegation to D-8 Commission 2018, WTO Conference 2017, deputy leader of the business delegation at the Joint Economic Council (JEC) Meetings with Sri Lanka and Turkey as part of the delegation of the Minister of Commerce of the Govt. of Bangladesh. He was a guest at events such as the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC, United States of America (USA) chaired by the President of United States, Barack Obama where global industry leaders, US Senators and Congressmen were also present. 

Sheikh F Fahim’s contributions towards regional, bilateral and multilateral initiatives is evident through his leadership at private public platforms of the WTO, D-8, ASEAN, SAARC, BIMSTEC, BBIN, SRCIC, OIC, APTA and at the Commonwealth. Being a global citizen, he has lived in Bangladesh, Singapore, India, United Kingdom and United States. These experiences reshaped his global perspective and solidified his drive to contribute towards humanity through his professional and social standing.

Sheikh F Fahim’s expertise in providing breakthrough leadership with a view to achieving corporate social strategies, building coalition to support sustainable development and drive organizational performance is highlighted through his civic standing in the community. Fahim is currently the managing director of Obsidian Bangladesh Ltd, a conglomerate with business interest in manufacturing, distribution and EPC. He is also the Chairman of Euro Petro Product Ltd. a LPG terminal and bottling plant. He earlier worked as the financial adviser at the Edward Jones Investments, a global financial organisation.

Abdul Matlub Ahmed

Matlub Ahmad started Nitol Motors Ltd. in 1981 and eventually in 1990 he went into joint venture with Tata Motors under the banner of Nitol Motors. It has spawned many new employment, business opportunity like Nita Joint Venture, Nitol Cement, Nitol Insurance, Nitol Leasing Company, Niloy Hero Motors, Nitol Curtis Paper Mill, Kaliachapra Sugar Mill etc. that has widen business and employment opportunity in the country as a whole.

b. He had the privilege and honor to be a member of Honorable Prime Minister’s entourage during her Bangladesh Business delegation trip to Tripura (Agartala, India (from 11 -12 January 2012.

c. Participated in India Invest-trade (special focus on Energy Sector & Electrical Equipment in Ruposhi Bangla Hotel, Dhaka in May 2011.

d. Led Business Delegation to Hyderabad, Mumbai, Poona and Kolkata 2008-2009.

e. Participated as the Co-Chairman of Task Force Meeting on Bilateral Trade between Bangladesh and India held on 20' June, 2006, 2007,2008

j. He is also known for his sporting achievement; a keen promoter of sports, his contribution for development of games & sports in Bangladesh is commendable. For example, he sponsored – NITOL-TATA National Football League for the year 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 & 2014.

Besides his number of other social activities, he is actively involved and very much concerned with environmental pollution to keep the world safe and secure place for the future generation. The first time car rally has been sponsored by him in the year 2014 in Dhaka and also the 2nd Car Rally has been sponsored in this year 2015.

Mr. Matlub Ahmad born in 1952; Graduation B.A. (Hons.) and M.A in Economics from world’s most reputed Oxford University. He is happily married to Selima Ahmad winner of Oslo Business for Peace Award and is blessed with two star boys- upcoming business leader of the country, Abdul Musabbir Ahmad (Nitol) and Abdul Marib Ahmad (Niloy) & 4 Grandson from Abdul Musabbir and Nazia - IMAAN, AMEEN, AMAAN & USMAAN
