James McCabe is performing as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of Standard Chartered Bank, one of the Banks amongst the foreign Banks operating in Bangladesh. International Banker personality, James McCabe   prior to taking up responsibility as CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh, performed responsibility as Head of Operations in Singapore Global Banking. In the immediate past he had the experience of performing responsibilities as President of Standard Chartered Bank, Taiwan, during his tenure Standard Chartered Bank took over Hsinchu International Bank. In schooling life, McCabe received Masters Degree in Business Administration from Thunderbird School of Global Management located in Arizona of United States. In Bangladesh he was installed in place of Osman Morad former CEO of Standard Chartered Bank. Standard Chartered is the oldest and biggest amongst all the foreign banks operating in Bangladesh. James McCabe has position even in upper management of America and Asia of Standard Chartered Group. In December 2000 he was the Head of Risk Department of Northeast Asia’s Wholesale Banking of Standard Chartered Bank; in the year 2002 was the CEO of Standard Chartered based in New York City, from 2006 to 2008 performed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Standard Chartered Bank, Taiwan. Prior to joining Standard Chartered Bank he performed as President of Bank of America in Mexico. Joining as CEO of Standard Chartered Bank, Bangladesh he told “I am   happy by being able to join as CEO of Standard Chartered Bank in Bangladesh”.  He told, this is a significant market of   Standard Chartered Group. We have pride and tradition of staying here for more than 100 years. I want to work with advanced outlook in growing Banking sector here. In October 2009 he took the responsibilities as CEO of Standard Chartered Bangladesh. As per valuation of Institute of Cost and Management Association of Bangladesh (ICMB), Standard Chartered is staying on the top amongst the foreign Banks operating in Bangladesh. Standard Chartered Bangladesh was awarded ‘Best Corporate Performance Award 2008 ’.  McCabe received this award as CEO, Standard Chartered Bangladesh from Mohd. Abdul Hamid MP Speaker of National Parliament. This award was given in consideration of capital adequacy, standard of assets, profit, liquidity, financial capacity and some other important indices of the Bank. Prior to that the Bank received the ‘Best Retail Bank in Bangladesh Award 2007’ under the program ‘Best Foreign Bank in Bangladesh 2009’ and the Asian Banker: Excellence in Retail Financial Services of Finance Asia. At present the Bank has 25 branches and 50 ATM Booths .Has more than 1300 employees and officers. Amongst the foreign Banks in the country, only Standard Chartered has branches in 6 cities. These branches are located in Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Sylhet, Bogra and Narayanganj. He has received the honor of the best personality of the year for his endeavor to make use of his wide experience in international arena for the development of banking sector.
